We have had a very large number of contact us messages from new users that attempt to register an account but when they receive the account activation email to there surprise there appears to be no activation link contained with in. What would you say if we told you the link is actually included in the email and why you are not seeing it is because your email provider has phishing filters setup to hide the links? Well this is what is happening and there is nothing we can really do about that. To get to the link in the email you will need to view the activation emails source content. There is different ways to do so depending on who you use for email. Many companies such as Yahoo and Gmail (amongst others) have this setup automatically for you. Below is a link that shows how to view what we are talking about for the various larger named email providers. Please follow the steps to locate the link prior to contacting us about it. If you can't seem to locate the link we don't mind you contacting us for help but keep in mind that it may take an extended period of time for us to respond based on what is going on.
We have learned of another cockatrice server that has been stood up. There has been questions asked for some time now about if there is alternate server other than the ones we host. Now there is! Head over to chickatrice.net and check out there forums. We wish them the best of luck running there cockatrice server and if there is anything we can do to help feel free to ask. Hopefully this will allow for various play groups to have an alternate server to play on.
We can take care of the server, add on moderators, and do our best to support players, but as much as we can do for the program we cannot guarantee the games you join to be positive experiences. Players have different attitudes that many times do not agree with one another, not all people are as friendly when online compared to how they may act if met for a game in real life. and not all people want you to enjoy the game as much as they want to. One thing we do recommend is to find a good community to join, get to know and play with. This can lead to a much more positive experience. One group we have come to work with is located at http://www.reddit.com/r/Cockatrice/ . They are doing everything they can do create a community of individuals who want nothing more than to play magic, help others, and have an overall good time. We frequent their sub to answer questions and concerns that come up in the program and see how everything is doing and recommend if your looking for a group to get to know, check them out.
