Very few times do we make announcements about the weekly client builds , unless that is there is something we deem fairly important. In this weeks weekly client build we wanted to point out a couple of changes (amongst the many other changes) that may help the community and encourage them to upgrade to the most recent weekly build. The first is a new column that is available in the games listing that shows the time from which a game has been created. Have you ever been looking for a game , find one and attempt to join only to find the player that started the game may have left there PC for who knows how long and isn't responding? This column can help you determine which games have been round for a while and which games are much newer. The second change is an update to the preferred sets ordering screen. There has been many complaints about the functionality of the application when it comes to setting your preferred set for card imagery and though things are still being worked on around this, in this weeks update there is added functionality for the user to see additional set information (such as release date of each set) and the ability for you so save the order you have things changed around to and restore that ordering in the event of an update that causes things to get reset to default.
We hope these two changes help out and are continuing to make improvements to better make the application easier to use and understand.
We have learned of another cockatrice server that has been stood up. There has been questions asked for some time now about if there is alternate server other than the ones we host. Now there is! Head over to chickatrice.net and check out there forums. We wish them the best of luck running there cockatrice server and if there is anything we can do to help feel free to ask. Hopefully this will allow for various play groups to have an alternate server to play on.
We can take care of the server, add on moderators, and do our best to support players, but as much as we can do for the program we cannot guarantee the games you join to be positive experiences. Players have different attitudes that many times do not agree with one another, not all people are as friendly when online compared to how they may act if met for a game in real life. and not all people want you to enjoy the game as much as they want to. One thing we do recommend is to find a good community to join, get to know and play with. This can lead to a much more positive experience. One group we have come to work with is located at http://www.reddit.com/r/Cockatrice/ . They are doing everything they can do create a community of individuals who want nothing more than to play magic, help others, and have an overall good time. We frequent their sub to answer questions and concerns that come up in the program and see how everything is doing and recommend if your looking for a group to get to know, check them out.
